Firm History

On May 2, 2005, the Firm, formerly known as Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman, became Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. Twenty-four attorneys established Katten Muchin Zavis in 1974 in Chicago. These lawyers sought to expand their practices, provide the highest quality legal services, and build a full-service national law firm. Over the years, Katten has achieved its objectives to the extent that, by 2002, the Firm had offices in New York, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Palo Alto, California.

In 2002, Katten expanded its New York office by merging with Rosenman & Colin LLP. Founded in 1912, Rosenman & Colin was a distinguished New York firm with a nearly century-long reputation for providing the highest quality legal work and client service.

In June 2005, Katten established a London presence through its affiliation with Katten Muchin Rosenman Cornish LLP. Katten currently has offices in Chicago; New York; Los Angeles; Washington D.C.; Charlotte, North Carolina; Palo Alto, California; and Irving, Texas.
